jdl is a dsj extension that enables dsj based applications to access proprietary interfaces on Blackmagic Design DirectShow filters. jdl links to dsj at runtime and allows for extended hardware control as well as use of the cards' keying and device control features - functionality not directly accessible through standard DirectShow interfaces.

humatic is not related to BMD in any way and jdl is not an official product of Blackmagic Design.

The java api models the native interfaces relatively closely and makes them available through a central accesspoint in the Decklink class, which also handles runtime linking to dsj. Implemented interfaces include:

• DecklinkIOControl - to select video, audio and timecode in and outputs and set various other options
• DecklinkKeyer - providing support for the alpha keying features
• DecklinkCaptureBanner - for writing to the "no input" framebuffer
• DecklinkStatus - providing input status callbacks
• DecklinkRawDeviceControl - for access to an eventual RS422 9Pin control port

The jdl download contains jdl dll and jar files plus documentation and samplecode. Dlls are included in both 32 and 64bit builds.
